Description
This gold ring, from the Merovingian period was found near a wall at the Roman Villa near Bignor, Sussex. It is set with an oval cabochon intaglio Carnelian, carved with a figure of Venus, disrobing. The image shows the reproduction next to the original. It is also available in silver, either with (HJR 457b) or without (HJR 457c) a hand carved Carnelian. The top measures 16.5 mm x 16mm.
