Description

c. 1376 AD. The lead original was possibly made for the funeral of the Black Prince in 1376 and was excavated from the City water-front by the Museum of London. He was the eldest son of King Edward III and was known as Edward of Woodstock, Prince of Wales. He was called the Black Prince after his death, probably due to the carnage of the many battles he led in France. Reproduced to half size in plated pewter. Height 58mm
