I designed and made this gold plated Sterling Silver and Garnet Torc necklace based on the amazing Bronze Age Irish gold torcs in the National Museum of Ireland. Frankly, the craftsmen at that time were far superior in Goldsmithing skills than we are today. My version measures 21 cm across x 18 cm front to back. The internal measurements are approx. 17.5 cm across x 14 cm. The eight Cabochon Garnets all measure 7mm x 5mm. It is surprisingly light at 192 grams and very comfortable to wear. It carries my London Assay mark and the quality mark of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths, of which I am a Fellow.
